At age 16, David Hudgik's life was dramatically changed when he broke his neck and became paralyzed. Before his accident, David had been an avid freestyle skier and enjoyed an active lifestyle outside of his home. Living as a quadriplegic has been an immense challenge. Having a vehicle that he could drive himself would be LIFE CHANGING for David. Your donation will help David purchase an accessible van equipped so that he can drive.

David's #1 goal right now is to be able to drive. Driving means independence, freedom and personal satisfaction. 5K registration fees, donations and sponsorships will help David move forward.

The cost for a vehicle equipped for a quadriplegic to drive is about $60,000. That goal has not yet been reached, and there is still a need for more donations to help David attain driving independence.

David faces many obstacles as he strives for a semi-independent lifestyle. It is through your generous contributions and participation in fundraising events in honor of David that he is able stay headed in a positive direction.

This fundraising campaign is administered by HelpHOPELive, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing fundraising assistance to transplant and catastrophic injury patients. All contributions are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Northeast Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for David's injury-related expenses.
